Peter Tumminello

Colour in Homœopathy

Peter Tumminello Abstract
The colour preference of a client is a symptom of great depth and relatively easy to obtain. It reflects a distinct mental disposition or feeling and hence vital force.

The system was developed by Dr Hugbald Muller(1921-2001) who discovered the significance of the preference in 1985. It originated from a Conium case where the patient was soothed by darkness (a known Conium symptom). The man mentioned on his own accord that black was his favourite colour. Muller began to look for it in other Conium cases and confirmed it. He began to test the colour preference systematically with every patient and often found that people cured by the same remedy had exactly the same choice of colour.

Since then, it was taken up by Drs Ulrich Welte and Herbert Sigwart from Germany who developed a calibrated colour standard that can be used without ambiguity. In 2003 Dr Welte published the book ‘Colors in Homeopathy’ with the standard colour chart and the colour identity of over 450 medicines.

All colour preferences were discovered through results from cured cases. The colour preference is a clinical symptom, it does not generally come from provings but adds to the wealth of symptoms discovered in provings. It is additional information for a good prescription and will also lead to successful prescriptions of unknown medicines. It only requires an open mind and a truthful approach to the subject to get results.

During 15 years of initial experimentation an estimated 20000 patients were asked their colour preferences. Of these about 3000 patients contributed to the discovery of the colour preferences of the remedies as they responded well to the prescription and were consistent with others who chose the same colour.

Evidence: I will present details of a retrospective study of 290 children who chose a colour and its success rate in their cases. I will also demonstrate through a video presentation a cured case of hyperthyroidism using a relatively unknown medicine though choice of colour.
