Obstacles to Cure in Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Mercury & Other Heavy Metals
Abstract
Irritable Bowel Syndrome accounts for up to 50% of visits to gastro-enterologists. Yet conventional medicine offers little treatment options for patients with common advice such as: ‘You will just have to live with it’ or ‘Try some acidophilus capsules’. Therefore, CAM practitioners who effectively treat this obstinate condition are in demand. In this presentation I will outline some of the effective ways I have developed over the last two decades to treat IBS.
When reviewing 108 cases of digestive illness which attended my clinic in the last two years, five of these did not improve on the usual medicines for digestive illness which I outlined in my book Mastering Homeopathy 2: The Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (2006). All these five cases had a significant amount of mercury, a heavy metal which I believe blocks the action of well prescribed homœopathic medicines. In this paper I discuss the tools we use to find heavy metals and what we do about it, with particular reference to two of these five cases. I discuss the use of Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, urinalysis and the tricky question of whether a constitutional medicine will result in chelation of heavy metals.
