NSW Residents Must Vote!
We recommend you make a postal vote – see below.
2008 NSW Local Government elections
Local council elections will be held on Saturday 13 September 2008 - while our Australian Homoeopathic Medicine Conference is in full swing! It is compulsory for Australian citizens resident in NSW to enrol and vote for representatives on their council. The fine for not doing so is $55.
It will be very difficult to vote absentee at Bondi Beach, so please follow the instructions below for postal voting before the conference:
- After 18 August ring the NSW Electoral Commission on 1300 135 736 or go to:
http://www.elections.nsw.gov.au/local_government_elections/voting/voting_before_election_day/postal_votes.
- Then go to the box on the left "Forms and handbooks", download the postal vote application form and submit by post, fax or email to your council’s returning officer asap - before 8 September. You will then receive voting papers to fill in and post to the returning officer between 18 August and 15 September.
You can then relax and enjoy the Conference!
